Decorating with Jane Churchill and Annie Charlton: Distinctive Ideas for Yo ur Home from Two of Britain's Most Popular Decorators by Jane Churchill, An nie Charlton For anyone interested in redoing a home with flair and imagination, this fa scinating guide presents more than 30 "home facelift" projects. Two of Engl and's most renowned decorators offer step-by-step photographs, clear instru ctions, and no-nonsense advice for transforming any home into a setting for more gracious living. Editorial Reviews Who wouldn't want decorating advice from two of Britain's most popular designers, each of whom runs her own decorating firm and who together host a series about decorating for British TV? Unfortunately, the book doesn't fulfill its promise. Although Churchill and Charlton include some decorating tips, this book is primarily composed of instructions for decorative items the do-it-yourselfer can make. It's nice to have these decorations approved by these leading designers, but the projects, such as stenciling and making curtains, are better described in other books, such as Jane Gauss's Stenciling Techniques and Heather Luke's Design and Make Curtains & Drapes (reviewed above). - Library Journal.

That's because it's filled with information on how to achieve a bright, spacious, uncluttered home by maximizing space and light--key issues in every abode, whether rented or owned, large or small, in the town or the country. Many of the solutions are both quick and inexpensive, and six practical case studies show the theory put into eye-opening practice. Pages of inspiring images and advice illustrate key points of interior design--including color, pattern, and texture, as well as window treatments and light fixtures--and a room-by-room analysis covers specific needs in detail.
