2 Goodman, Frederick Magic Symbols
Brian Trodd Publishing 1989 1853610224 / 9781853610226 Hardcover Very Good/Very Good
This book is quite interesting and useful to anyone involved with magic sym bols in any way. Each element of a symbol is explored in isolation - circle , arc, horizontal and vertical line, etc. - which enables the reader to beg in interpreting almost any symbol encountered, or indeed to create his/her own. More complex symbols are also investigated, such as the Fish, Ankh, Pe ntagram, Monad, etc. and lead up to examinations of highly complex symbolic representations such as Alchemical Illustrations. There are also sections on such people as, John Dee, Jacob Boheme, Robert Fludd, etc. though nothin g more than a page long. While this book is interesting and helpful to anyo ne new to the theory of magical symbolism, it is not very in-depth. Caradoc Elmet

Everyday Magic: Spells & Rituals for Modern Living, Morrison, Dorothy
4 Morrison, Dorothy Everyday Magic: Spells & Rituals for Modern Living
Llewellyn Publications 2002 1567184693 / 9781567184693 Paperback Near Fine
A crisp clean softcover, no markings throughout: Dorothy Morrison has a daring point of view that magic is not just compatible with technology--the two can actually help one another. Since technology has made our lives more productive, surely it can enhance our magic too. (Have you ever thought of making your herbal infusions in an automatic-drip coffeemaker?) Technological assistance with magic is only part of the story. Morrison has filled a grimoire with charms that protect from car trouble and ensure the safe and timely arrival of luggage while traveling, and spells to keep a computer from crashing, which makes life in the 20th century a little less harrowing. Rather than fighting the progress of the electronic age, Morrison has tapped into the wealth it has to offer, and she shares her discoveries with anyone adventurous enough to try them.

6 Wesselman, Hank Spiritwalker: Messages from the Future
Bantam 1996 0553378376 / 9780553378375 Paperback Very Good
A copy that has been read, but is in excellent condition. Pages are intact and not marred by notes or highlighting. The spine remains undamaged. While living on the flank of an active Hawaiian volcano between 1985 and 1989, anthropologist Wesselman reports, he had a series of visionary experiences. Projected 5000 years into the future, into the consciousness of a Hawaiian kahuna, or shamanic healer, named Nainoa, Wesselman presumably learned firsthand that Western civilization had been destroyed by a sudden rise in the ocean level. Through his paranormal interactions with Nainoa across the millennia, Wesselman has adventures in the spirit world and also watches as a band of Hawaiian natives who survived the cataclysm sail to the former California coast to rediscover the lost, devastated continent of North America. Fans of Carlos Castaneda's books may relate to these detailed premonitory visions, fleshed out with observations of Hawaiian shamanism. Wesselman lectures on shamanism and witchcraft at Sierra College in California.
